The first H2OpenDay 2015 was organised by the FIN Federal Centre on July 11th in Trieste in the swimming pool Bruno Bianchi which was open free for over 60s. The H2OpenDay was coordinated by Franco Del Campo, director of the FIN Federal Centre and Ariella Cuk director of Leader Comunicazione.
It was a fantastic day crowded with people who wanted to enjoy swimming and water sports and try the different tasting sessions.
The Day was opened by an open air seminar on the theme "Living a Long Active Life: Instructions for Use". Andrea Di Lenarda Director of the Vascular Centre ASS1, Gianfranco Orlando, doctor and Mario Bertolini physiotherapist and personal trainer gave their contributions on the subject. The numerous audience showed great interest in the subject, the project developments and the role of sport in active ageing.
Before taking part in the active part of the OpenDay all participants could test their vitals at the Health Point organised along the pool in collaboration with the Cardio Vascular Centre and then join the tasting sessions in the four swimming styles and aqua gym, senior sincronettes, senior waterpolo and rescue basics under the supervision of qualified FIN coaches.
The best moment of the day was the FantasticOver60s x 50 non-competitive Relay. Almost 100 male and female swimmers took part in the relay with an age comprised between 60 and 88. Each swimmer swam in his/her favourite style: crawl, breaststroke, backstroke and even butterfly and at his/her own pace.
The Relay was concluded with a Prize Ceremony where all participates were given the LIFELONG SWIMMING FINISHER Diploma.
The event ended with a final "Big Splash" crowded dive into the blue swimming pool and the promise to meet again next year.
